DegreeSix are working with a primary school in the Southam, Warwickshire area who are looking for a specialist SEND teaching assistant to work with an Year 2 pupil on a 1:1 basis. This role is for an immediate start, based Monday to Friday 9am-12pm, on an ongoing basis with the hours potentially increasing over time. We’re looking for passionate, caring and considerate indviduals for this role who have experience working with SEN & challenging behaviour.

Your new role

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Provide support on a 1:1 basis
  • Work with challenging behaviour
  • Be reliable, approachable and able to work calmly under pressure
  • Assist the class teacher whilst receiving their support and guidance

To be successful within the role, you will need:

  • Experience of working within a similar setting
  • Knowledge/experience of ASD/EBD
  • Be able to communicate well whilst remaining positive
  • A flexible approach to working
  • A desire to enhance the lives of others through your work
