Job Title: Residential Deputy Manager

Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Contract Type: Full-time – shifts & office hours (including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins)

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of a residential children’s home.

This is a key leadership role, focused on ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding, and operational effectiveness.

You will help lead and develop the staff team, ensuring that children and young people receive consistent, high-quality care in a safe and nurturing environment that promotes positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Registered Manager in the overall management of the home
  • Lead shifts and oversee daily operations to ensure smooth running of the service
  • Supervise, mentor, and support staff to maintain high performance standards
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and placement management
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records and reports
  • Build effective relationships with external professionals, families, and stakeholders
  • Participate in the on-call rota and provide management cover as required

Requirements:

  • 2+ years previous experience working with children or young people within children’s residential homes
  • Willingness to work shifts, including sleeps
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Level 3 in Children & Young People
